Part of the formula for a good investable company is that you trust the management. Meg Whitman did a terrible job at eBay; who could have known she would be so bad? She "bought Skype" but really just bought the running network and left the founders with the technology. Amazing.

Agreed. There are still many businesses today where management is the biggest discount.
